It’s okay to struggle with anxiety.
For real. You are not alone. I struggled with it. I fought with it. It was a constant battle in my head. I felt like I could see all sides of every situation and I couldn’t land on any decision. I was paralyzed by fear. I was stuck.
AND this is perfectly okay. There is beauty in this struggle. There is growth in this struggle. You will learn from this struggle.
How to cope with the struggle:
01. Shift your focus from the struggle. Focus on the growth. What can you learn from the situation at hand? How can you improve? How can you be successful next time?
02. Don’t label your struggle as a struggle. It then becomes an obstacle. You then don’t want to deal with it- unless there is a major motivation behind it. Your brain automatically puts up blocks. Label it something simple. Maybe just a situation you are dealing with right now? Whatever wording makes the situation less anxious or less of a barrier.
03. If you can’t seem to shift the focus off of the struggle, (again, it’s okay to struggle) then find what motivates you. What is the greatest motivating factor that will get you through this ‘struggle’? Is it a family member or a loved one? Is it your health? Is it simply easier to jump this hurdle than it is to deal with the consequences of avoiding this?
04. Whatever you do, don’t play the victim card in any struggle. Yes, shitty things happen. Life can be hard. Life can suck at times. We can’t control every little thing. But as soon as you lean into this mindset, you are a victim, and nothing changes. Life is one big bully. Life is playing you and you are not playing the game of life.
Take responsibility for your mindset. After all, it’s all a choice.
